THE parliamentarians of Balochistan Assembly held a session on Tuesday to vote on a no-confidence motion. Stringent security measures were taken and roads closed to normal traffic.
The extra security measures proved an invitation to terrorist outfits to carry out a suicide bomber attack. Six people were martyred and another 17 injured, some seriously.
I request our lawmakers to ensure the sanctity of life and property of all citizens and not just our parliamentarians. I also urge them to use the floor of the house for the people`s uplift rather than to furthertheir interests.
Let us hope that Tuesday`s bloodletting is the last time the people have sacrificed for the glitterati. The nation can afford this no more.
