AN eminent educationist and a former college principal, Prof M. Rashid, had voluntarily prepared a draft for the national education policy for the current government, but no action was taken on the matter at the time.

When the minister concerned recently emphasised the importance of a formal education policy for the country, he failed to make even a cursory reference to recognise Prof Rashid`s contribution in this regard. It was rather disappointing for those who know the factual position.
