Jackal injures 12 people in Pindigheb

TAXILA: At least 12 people were injured, including women and children, after a rabid jackal went on a biting spree in Thatti Syedo Shah village in Pindigheb town of Attock on Sunday.

The rabid jackal attacked locals in the village, including three women, five children and four men, who were rushed to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.

The hospital sources said the victims had sustained bite injuries on different partsoftheirbodies,especially their hands, and thattheinjuredhavebeen given the anti-rabies vaccine (ARV).

Chief Executive District Health Authority Dr Asad Ismail, while confirming the rabid jackal rampage in the area, said all had been given a vaccine against rabies at the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Pindigheb.
