Army donates ration

ISLAMABAD: The army has decided to donate its oneday ration to the drought-hit people of Tharparkar.

According a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations, the ration would be delivered at the doorstep of distressed families in each village in the district. The ration would meet the needs of a family for 15 days.

The army has also increased the number of medical camps in the affected areas. Six camps have been set up in Mithi, Islamkot, Diplo, Nagarparkar, Chachro and Khniser.

Medical teams, which include lady doctors and child specialists, have treated 3,479 patients over the past three days. The ISPR also said that senior military officials were supervising relief activities.
