KARACHI: Opener Ahmed Imam f ailed to score a century by one run but his unbeaten 99 guided Pakistan Lawyers to an eight-wicket win over Karachi Bar in the first Jamil Ahmed Invitation Color-kit T20 cricket tournament fixture at the Eastern Ground here the other day.

Ahmed`s 61-ball knock featuring 12 fours and two sixes helped Pakistan Lawyers overhauled their rivals` total of 147-7 with eight balls to spare.

In the other match played earlier at the TMC Ground, SHC Green defeated Green Sports by 45 runs. Fine contributions from Adnan Saghir (55) and Sajid Peecheo (54) helped SHC Green reach 180-5. Green Sports, in reply, made 135-8.

The event was inaugurated by former KCCA president and ex-PCB governing board member Prof Ejaz Ahmed Farugi at a simple ceremony which was also attended by tournament director Muhammad Ibrahim and Jamil Ahmed.
