TOBA TEK SINGH:An eightyear-old ailing girl allegedly died due to being administered a wrong injection at Kamalia THQ Hospital on Tuesday.

Her father, Shahid Iqbal Ranjha, claimed that he brought his daughter, Asmara Bibi, to the hospital, where child specialist Dr. Hafiz Habibur Rahman prescribed an injection,Septrazon, which was not available in the hospital. He purchased the injection from a medical store outside the hospital.

A nurse verified the injection with the doctor before administering it. However, as soon as Asmara was given the injection, her condition worsened, and she diedshortly after.

Following a protest by her relatives, who accused the hospital staff of negligence, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Naeem Sindhu ordered an inquiry into the incident. A committee, led by Assistant Commissioner Iqra Nasir Awan, has been formed to investigate the matter.

DROWNING: Twominor cousins drowned in a canal at Chak 363 JB near Kabootranwala graveyard on the Gojra-Faisalabad Bypass Road in Gojra.

According to Rescue 1122, Ameer Hamza (3) of Chak 320 JB, Toba, had come to visit his cousin Rehan Ali (10) at Gulshan Colony. On Monday evening, while bathing in the canal, both boys drowned.

After efforts, rescue diversrecovered Rehan Ali`s body later that night. However, the search operation was suspended due to darkness. It resumed on Tuesday morning, and Ameer Hamza`s body was found one kilometer downstream from the drowning site.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a man died by suicide by jumping into the Rakh Branch Canal near Chamrail Jhal on Satiana Road, Faisalabad, on Tuesday.

Witnesses said Noor Ahmad (50) was standing on the canal bank when he suddenly jumped into the water, drowning instantly.

Rescue 1122 divers recovered his body after several hours of effort.

SUICIDE: A couple died by suicide in Samundri tehsil`s Chak 439-GB of Faisalabad dis-trict on Tuesday.

Reports said the bodies of a young man and woman, identified as Tajammal Hussain of Ashraf Abad and Robina Bibi of Islampura, were found in a graveyard outside the village.

They were reportedly in love and wished to marry, but after failing to get their parents` approval, they took their own lives.

Samundri Saddar police said it appeared Tajammal Hussain first shot and killed Robina Bibi before turning the gun on himself. A pistol was found near their bodies. However, sources suggested the possibility of murder.

Their bodies have been shifted to Samundri THQ Hospital for autopsy, and police have launched an investigation.RAPE: A youth raped a 16-year old girl at Chak 344 JB, Gojra, on Tuesday.

Complainant `S` claimed in his FIR registered by Nawan Lahore police under section 376 of Pakistan Penal Code that his daughter `R` was alone at home when suspect `U` scaled into his house from outer wall and raped her.

Police were conducting raids to arrestthe suspect.

Meanwhile in Gojra`s Chak 345-JB, Muhammad Asif and his four accomplices kidnapped a 16-year old girl. A widow, Sakina Bibi, stated in her FIR registered under section 365 of PPC that the suspects stormed into her house and abducted her daughter.

Nawan Lahore police were conducting raids to arrest the suspect and recover the girl.
