SAHIWAL: Two men convicted by military courts were hanged in local prison in the early hours of Tuesday.

Both Fazal-i-Haq and Shahid Umer were involved in terrorism and convicted for anti-state activities, waging war and attacking the armed forces and other law-enforcement agencies.

Haq and Umer had been convicted and awarded death sentence on Nov 11 and Oct 17, 2016, respectively, by military courts. Prison officials refused to share information regarding the handing over of bodies to their relatives.

Both were said to be residents of Battagram district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
