IT is extremely sad to note that it is always the poor masses, who bear the brunt of the ever-increasing cost of living due to the frequent increase in petroleum prices and the rates of utility bills.
As if this was not enough, the Governor State Bank of Pakistan, who is stationed at Karachi, has to attend meetings frequentlywith Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the finance minister at Islamabad. The expenditure of air tickets, lodging and boarding for such meetings alone costs an exorbitant amount to the public exchequer.
I appeal to the prime minster and the finance minster to have the Governor State Bank of Pakistan permanently posted at Islamabad so as not to be a burden on the taxpayer`s money.
