Shangla people urged to enrol their children in schools

SHANGLA: District nazim Niaz Ahmed Khan has urged people to enroll their children in schools for their bright future.

He stated this while addressing a seminar held at Government Centennial Model School, Alpuri, on Tuesday in connection with the launch of enrolment drive.

The district education department also organised a walk participated by a large number of students who were carrying placards inscribed with messages about importance of education.

Additional deputy commissioner Mohammad Fayaz Khan, district education officer Mohammad Nisar and others spoke on the occasion.

While addressing the seminar, the district nazim asked the provincial government to improve the educational infrastructure in the district to increase the literacy rate.

He urged the people to ensure that every child aged between five to seven years was enrolled in school during the ongoing drive, saying the students of government schools were being provided free books.

Niaz Ahmed asked the education department to improve method of teaching in public sector schools and also ensure presence of female teacherson duty. DEO Nisar Ahmed said that members of the district government should help make the enrolment drive a success.

ACTIVISTS JOIN ANP: Scores of activists of JI on Tuesday announced to join the Awami National Party in Manrai Maira area of Bisham.

They announced their decision during a meeting, where opposition leader in the district council Sadeedur Rehman was the chief guest.

On the occasion, Mr Rehman said absence of district nazim from the council sessions showed that he was not interested in people`s welfare. He alleged that PML-N leader Amir Muqam had 1(ept Shangla backward for last 15 years.

Mr Rehman claimed that the ANP would form the next government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
