KARACHI: In a major move to enhance healthcare infrastructure in Sindh, Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah emphasised an urgent need to bolster emergency-response capabilities in the government-run hospitals to address the increasing load of patients especially in Karachi.
He was presiding over a meeting at the Sindh Secretariat, focusing on the upgrade of the emergency departments in Karachi`s secondary-care hospitals.
The CS highlighted that improving emergency wards was crucial to ensuring timely and organised care, reducing the strain on tertiary-care health facilities. By strengthening services at the secondary level, `we can manage many emergency cases locally`, he noted.PPI
