DADU: Three men, among them two brothers, died and two suffered wounds when two groups of Jatoi-Pathan community traded fire in Ghulam Sarwar Abdar JatoiPathan village near Mehar town on Friday reportedly over a petty issue involving children`s fight.The exchange of hot words soon turned violent when Khalid, Mansoor and Ehsan of one group attacked house of Haji Muhammad Daud JatoiPathan, killing Ikhtiar Ali Mirali, 29, his elder brother Majid Ali Mirali, and their relative Ali Akbar Burdi, 45, said sources in the village. The gunfire also injured Hajji Muhammad Daud`s youngson injured.

Eyewitnesses said that when the attackers attempted to storm the victims` houses, women entreated with them by holding the holy book aloft in an effort to stop them. Eventually, the attackers fled away firing in the air.

Police teams from five police stations reached to the village soon afterwards and managed to bring the situation under control.

SHO Shahnawaz Otho said that the clash erupted over a dispute among children, and efforts were being made to arrest the culprits.
