Local admins told to link workers` salaries with biometric attendance

RAWALPINDI: The divisional administration on Friday asked the district administrations of Rawalpindi`s six districts to link salaries of all government department employees with biometric attendance.
Commissioner Amir Khattak instructed the deputy commissioners to write letters to the account offices and ensure that salaries of all government departments werelinked with biometric attendance.
Amir Khattak issued these directives in a meeting held at the Commissioner`s Office, which was attended by Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Dr Hassan Waqar Cheema, RDA Director General Kinza Murtaza and heads of relevant government departments. The deputy commissioners of Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal and Murree participated through video-link.
`The deputy commissioner should visit all allied depart-ments in their respective districts while assistant commissioners visit at the tehsil level to ensure biometric attendance,` Mr Khattak said.
He went on to say that discipline and punctuality were the most important factors for government departments.
He said during checking, it should be ensured that there was no pendency in pension, death and other employee welfare cases and that the public was getting relief.
Besides, he said the deputy commissioner would submit aone page performance report of the heads of allied government departments of their districts and send a copy to the relevant secretary as well.
The Rawalpindi commissioner said a letter should be written to the relevant forum for missing facilities and human resources in the Registrar`s Office Rawalpindi and all additional deputy commissioners (Revenue) should visit the Registrar`s Office on a daily basis and spend time there.
`The Registrar`s Office should ensure the availabilityof all necessary facilities so that there is no delay in services being provided to the general public. In addition, the presence of the patwari at the Patwari Circle should also be ensured,` he added.
Mr Khattak also directed the additional commissioner coordination to compile a detailed report regarding instructions being passed on through daily divisional coordination committee meeting from the last six months and implementation on these instructions.
