GUJAR KHAN: A man and his friend have been booked for the alleged murder of his wife.

On December 7, 2024, the suspect, husband of the victim, reported to Rawat police that he had taken his wife to Kaliam Darbar and on return dropped her at her parents` home on December 5. He said later her mobile phone was found switched off, alleging that she might have been abducted by some unknown people.

However, Asad Ali, brother of the woman Qudasia Batool, on December 18, filed an application with the police alleging that his sister was in fact murdered by her husband Mohammad Amin and Israr. The couple used to visit Israr for learning magic.

Inspector Zaheeruddin Babar of the police homicide investigation unit (HIU) told Dawn that a nullah near Gurrah Rajgan got flooded and the body of a woman was spotted lying in the mud. The body was later identified as that of Batool.

According to the inspector, the two suspects had already confessed to killing and burying the body in the nullah which was drained away from the indicated spot to another location by rainwater.

The police have formerly registered a murder case against the suspects and arrested them.

The police have also got their judicial remand for 11 days from the local court. The police sources said that Israr had extracted hefty amounts and gold ornaments from the woman and she was demanding back her gold ornaments and cash from him. Her husband was said to be annoyed over her quest to learn magic from Israr.

The two suspects allegedly took her into a forested area and strangled her there. Correspondent
