Forced wedding halted, girl recovered

DERA GHAZI KHAN: Under the chief minister`s `Never Again` campaign, Rajanpur police took swift action to stop forced marriage of a girl.
Complainant Aisha contacted the police through the emergency helpline `15` to report that her family was forcing her into marriage against her will.
Upon receiving the complaint, District Police Officer (DPO) Farooq Amjad directed DSP Jampur to intervene and stop the wedding and rescue the girl.
Jampur saddar police halted the marriage, recovered the complainant and initiated legal proceedings against those involved.
According to reports, Aisha`s parents and relatives were attempting to marry her off without her consent.
