British example

2015-05-12
WITHIN 12 hours of the declaration of the British election results, E d Miliband, leader of the Labour Party, Nick Clegg of Liberal Democrats and Nigel Farage of the UK Independent Party resigned from the leadership of their respective political parties by accepting the defeat in the election and taking the responsibility, paving the way for their parties to choose new persons to head.

This is in contrast to our politics where leaders cling to theirpartyleadership till death despite mass-scale rejection by the electoral college.

The leadership treat these parties as private limited companies. After the generalelectionsin2013,the head ofno party felt it his moral duty to vacate the leadership slot in favour of any other competent person of their party.

It is time electoral reforms were made to get rid of this system which pampers a few moneyed people, feudals and their cohorts.
