DESPITE the Sindh government`s tall claim about providing basic healthcare in the Thar Desert , child deaths that started in 2013 have not come to an end. According to of ficial data, at least 113 children died in one hospital of Mithi city alone in January 2017.
Astonishingly, during the last four years, over 2,250 children died owing to malnutrition and other diseases in the region.
The Sindh Health Department admits that in June 2013 around 2,363 children died in the Thar Desert owing to severe malnourishment.
There is a dire need for fulfilling the vacant posts of doctors in hospitals of Tharparkar to provide proper health facilities to the people.
