I WAS shocked to listen to the interior minister`s speech on Labour Day at Pakistan Ordnance Factories. His question on the ability of our intelligence agencies made no sense to me. Instead, another question came to my mind: what are the responsibilities of the interior minister? Has he any role in making policies and their implementation on the national and internal security of the country; or is criticising state institutions his sole responsibility? He should be a man of principles and not a man of words. He is not only the representative of a political party or an aide of the prime minister, he is the interior minister.
One can change his political party butthe principles set to live with dignity should not be changed.
