Former FCS official charged

KARACHI: An accountability court on Thursday indicted a former vice chairman of the Fishermen Cooperative Society (FCS)in an over Rs45 million graf t case.

The National Accountability Bureau had filed a reference against Sultan Qamar Siddiqui last month for allegedly accumulating assets worth Rs47.6m through corruption during his tenure in FCS.

The accountability courtII judge Amina Nazeer Ansari read out the charges against the accused and summoned the prosecution witnesses for May 25 as he pleaded not guilty and opted to contest the charges.

Siddiqui, along with his brother and another suspect, was recently set free after a military court acquitted them in the Safoora Goth bus carnage case.
