LARKANA: Leaders of Awami Tehreek Larkana district chapter have warned that the threat of construction of six new canals on Indus River still hangs over Sindh.

Instead of rejecting the canals, preparations were being made to allocate funds for the Diamer-Bhasha Dam, they said.

The party leaders, Advocate Sajid Hussain Mahesar, Comrade Ghulam Mustafa Chandio, Advocate Zulfiqar Mirani and others were speaking at a condolence reference held at Naudero Chowk on Sunday to pay homage to Comrade Niaz Hussain Mirani, a close companion of AT founder Rasool Bakhsh Palijo.—Correspondent
