BAHAWALPUR: Two men allegedly gang-raped a 15-yearold girl who was employed as a sanitary worker in the waste management company at Kacha Khu in Khanewal district on Tuesday.

Complainant `K` told the police his daughter `U` after a day`s work was on her way home when she was lured by suspects `Z` and `S` who allegedly gang-raped her.

On receipt of information, police rushed to the scene and shifted the victim to hospital.

Police have registered a case against the suspects who managed their escape.Meanwhile, a woman, Shazia Bibi (36), who had attempted selfimmolation attempt, was on Wednesday shifted to the Nishtar Hospital, Multan, fromMakhdum Rashid.

According to Makhdum Rashid police, complainant Mahnoor informed police that her mother Shazia attempted self-immolation by sprinkling petrol on her body following a family dispute with her father. She received serious burns and was shifted to burn unit of Nishtar Hospital.

Makhdum Rashid police reached the scene and arrested Shazia`s husband Khalid Mahmood.

TRAIN STOPOVER: Pakistan Railways has approved withimmediate effect a two-minute stopover at Lodhran railway junction of 45-Up and 46-Down express running between Karachi and Rawalpindi.

According to a PR announcement, the stopover would initially continue for three months after which it may be extended for a further period.

FIA: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) claimed to have arrested Muhammad Dilshad of Bahawalpur at the FIA immigration counter at Multan Airport upon his arrival on private flight G9558 from Sharjah on Tuesday.

According to FIA officials, Dilshad Ahmed had been staying illegally in Iraq, where he wastaken into official custody and subsequently deported to Pakistan. Following his arrest at Multan Airport, he was transferred to the FIA Multan Circle forfurtherinterrogation.

SEALED: ThePunjab Healthcare Commission sealed an unregistered pathological laboratory during a raid in Basti Mlook, Lodhran District, on Wednesday.

According to commission officials, the laboratory was operating illegally without registration from the health department and without the presence of a certified pathologist. Based on public complaints, the commission has also filed a case with the police against the unidentified owners.
