One killed, five injured in clash over land dispute

KASUR: A clash over a land dispute between two families on Wednesday claimed the life of a man and left five others, including two women, injured at Dholan village in the limits of Pattoki Saddar police station.
According to the police, one Jaffer had a land dispute with 1kram.
On Wednesday, both Jaffer and 1kram exchanged harsh words over the issue.
Later, their family members and relatives, including women, arrived at the disputed land, ensuing a free-for-all, where both sides attack each other with clubs and bricks.
During the fight, Jaffer (50) suffered a critical head injury and died on the spot, while five others, identified as Sakeena Bibi, Jamila, Nasir, Abdullah and Shakeel suffered injuries.
Police shifted the bodies and the injured to Pattoki THQ Hospital and started investigations.
TWO SUSPECTS KILLED: Police claimed that two unidentified robbery suspects were gunned down by their own accomplices during an `encounter` with policeon Wednesday at Raiwind Road bypass.
According to Saddar police, four unidentified men on two motorcycles were signaled to stop at a picket near railway crossing.
They said that the suspects opened fire on the police that was returned.
The suspects attempted to flee, but the police chased them and both sides again exchanged fire.
When the firing stopped, the police claimed to have found bodies of two unidentified suspects, along with some illegal weapons.
The police claimed that the alleged robbers were shot dead by their accomplices, who fled away.
A case has been lodged against the fleeing suspects and the police are trying to identify the bodies.
DPO Essa Khan has formed a team to trace and arrest the fleeing suspects.
BODIES RETRIEVED: Phoolnagar police on Wednesday retrieved bodies of two unidentified persons from a canal near Head Baloki.
The police shifted the bodies to Pattoki THQ Hospital for identification of the bodies and to ascertain the death cause.
