NAROWAL: One person was killed and five others were injured when a tyre of a mini-van burst on the motorway in Sheikhupura.

Sheikhupura Rescue 1122 spokesperson said they received information about an accident from the Motorway Kot Abdul Malik interchange. He said the Rescue team, with the help of locals, removed the injured from the van.

He said Irfan (30), Hamza Khadim(24), Bilal Idrees (23), Ali Shakeel (24), Qasim Ali (25) and Tanveer (28) were seriously injured in the accident. He said Irfan died on the spot due to his critical condition.

He said the Rescue medical team provided first aid to the injured and shifted them to a government hospital.

According to the spokesperson, all the injured were employees of a private company who were returning to Lahore.

The Rescue medical team handed over the dead body to the motorway police after necessary legal action.
