RAHIM YAR KHAN: The Khanpur Cadet College (KCC) and the flyover at the Khanpur Bagho Bahar Road are the priority projects of the government and will be functional soon.

Talking to Dawn at an open court at the Khanpur Municipal Committee Office on Wednesday, Bahawalpur Commissioner Musarrat Jabeen said the college building had been completed. She said the selection of KCC principal was in the final stage and other necessary requirements, including faculty, would also be completed soon.

She said that it would be an excellent institution for the people of the region as well as the country.

Talking about the flyover, she said it would also be functional soon after its completion with the coordination of all concerned departments.

Earlier, Ms Jabeen visited the THQ Hospital Khanpur, Safe City Projectat the Khanpur DSP office and Bahawalpur Waste Management Contractor`s office for the Suthara Punjab project, and received briefings. She also reviewed the ongoing public welfare projects in the tehsil, including the overhead bridge and the Khanpur Sports Gymnasium.

She said open courts were organised on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister to listen to the problems of the people directly and ensure immediate solutions at their doorsteps. She said that reaching out to the complainants who come to open courts was the top priority.

While listening to public complaints, she directed the officers to coordinate with all departments for immediate redressal of complaints and spare no effort in resolving them on a priority basis.

The commissioner along with the Deputy Commissioner visited the THQ hospital and reviewed medical facilities provided to the patients.
