PESHAWAR: Funeral prayers of the district police officer of Qilla Abdullah Sajid Khan Mohmand were offered at the Malik Saad Shaheed police lines here on Tuesday.

DPO Sajid was killed in a suicide attack targeting his vehicle in the border town of Chaman on Monday. His body was brought to Peshawar in a cavalcade.

Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, chief secretary Abid Saeed, Corps Commander Peshawar Lt-Gen Nazir Ahmed Butt, police chief Salahuddin Khan Mehsud, FC Commandant Liaqat Ali Khan and other senior government officials attended the funeral prayers. Talking to reporters, police chief said DPO Sajid was a brave police officer, who remained engaged in battling terrorists wherever he was posted.

DPO Sajid Khan was later laid to rest in his native Kado village in Michini area close to the border with Mohmand Agency.— Bureau Report
