NAROWAL: An influential landowner was arrested for allegedly fracturing legs of two goats of a poor labourer for grazing in his fields at Nathu Malhian village on Thursday.

Labourer Ahmed Ali, a resident of the village, complained to police that two of his goats had entered the fields of Zeeshan Asghar, a locally influential landlord.

The labourer alleged that the landlord got annoyed and frac-turedlegs ofthe goats.

A video clip of the injured goats was also uploaded on social media.

District Police Officer (DPO) Naveed Malik told Dawn that Badumalhi police have registered an FIR against Asghar on the report of the labourer under animal cruelty law and arrested the suspect. Ahmad Ali said that he had to slaughter one of the injured goats became of its critical condition. Correspondent
