Protest lodged with India over LoC violations

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has lodged a protest with India over the latest ceasefire violations on the Line of Control (LoC), in which a woman was 1(illed.

The Indian deputy high commissioner was called to the Foreign Office on Tuesday by the director general (South Asia and Saarc) for lodging the protest.

Pakistan condemns the latest ceasefire violations by the Indian security forces in Nakial sector near Kotli and Bhimber Gali sector on August 9, in which Pakistani posts were targeted, says a press release issued by the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Pakistan expressed concern over continuous unprovoked ceasefire violations by Indian forces along the LoC and the Working Boundary.

The Indian forces committed 37 and 24 ceasefire violations along the LoC and the Working Boundary in July and August, respectively.

Pakistan urged India to immediately stop the violations and observe the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding to create peace and tranquillity.-APP
