The consumption of `paan` and `gutka` is still quite prevalent in Karachi. Besides being a health hazard, it is a major cause of unhygienic conditions, with the consumers conveniently spitting around. `Gutka` stains have now become a characteristic feature of the city. There is a need to further tighten the restrictions against the sale and consumption of such health hazards.
