ACCORDING to the latest census, Pakistan`s population is 207.7 million, of which 65pc are young people who are the stakeholders of the country. Although the well-educated are only a small percentage, they are knowledgeable and exposed to information technology(IT) which has changed the working methodology and the pattern of governance in the world.
Pakistan doeshave thousands ofIT experts who have not been used by the few thousand who belong to the older generation and have been ruling this countryforseven decades.
A majority of them are stuck in time and arenotprepared tohandoverthe political and state powers to the young people. It is imperative that a serious deliberation between the generals, judges, serious politicians, professionals and thinkers is held to undertake and make a national reform plan for the political system, democracy, justice system , civil administration, privatesector rolein the business and to develop a new social contract between the state and the people.
I believe the real representation of the 80 million people living below the poverty line and those who are not having even potable water for consumption, can come from the new generation which will be much better than those who have been looting the public money and investing in other countries.
