SUKKUR: A team of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) conducted raid on Rohri taluka hospital near Sukkur on Monday and seized record to probe misappropriation of funds overhve years`period.

According to eyewitnesses, the hospital`s medical superintendent slipped away when he learnt about arrival of the NAB team.

The team stayed in the hospital for some time and took away with them five years` record of funds` utilisation.

Later, the NAB officials told journalists the bureau raided the healthcare facility after receiving complaints about misappropriation of funds for the purchase of machinery.

They said the hospital management had reportedly embezzled millions of rupees meant for the purchase of machinery and other material for the trauma ward in 2013.

They said the record had been seized for scrutiny and stern legal action would be taken against those found involved in corruption after completion of the probe.
