MUZAFFARGARH: Three persons were seriously injured on Monday, while a shop and a wall of a mosque collapsed when the tank of an oil tanker exploded during welding at Qasba Gujrat in the district.

According to police, three workers were doing welding work on an oil tanker at a workshop at Qasba Gujrat when its tank exploded with a bang.

As a result, the three workers were injured, while a shop and the wall of an adjacent mosque collapsed.

The fragments of the blown-away oil tanker’s frame were found in the vicinity of the workshop after the explosion, the police said, adding that some other tankers parked nearby were also damaged.

On being informed of the incident, a police team reached the spot and sealed the area.

Rescue 1122 staff called on the scene shifted the injured persons to hospital for treatment.
