KARACHI: Condemning beating up of a minority community official by his subordinate, workers of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) have demanded an inquiry into theincidentandstern action against the suspect.

In a statement issued here on Tuesday, KMC`s Sajjan (CBA) Union chief Zulfiquar Shah said KMC`s health department`s Khori Garden Zone (Kharadar and `T` Quarters area) inspector Shakeel Bhatti had asked sub inspector (sanitation) Kaleem Waheed to respond to public complaints. But instead of addressing the issue, he gave his boss a beating and injured him.

Mr Shah said that when he received the news regarding the attack on an official, he rushed to the spot and saw that despite being injured, Mr Bhatti was performing his emergency duties.
