Sacked judges demand reinstatement

By Our Staff Correspondent 2017-10-12
HYDERABAD: Two sacked civil judges staged a protest demonstration outside the local press club on Wednesday to demand their reinstatement.

Mian Fayyaz Rabbani and Ghulam Shabbir Soomro staged the protest once again against their dismissal from service on the basis of `fake` annual confidential reports (ACRs). A few lawyers from Hyderabad also joined them as a mark of solidarity.

The sacked judges said their services were terminated without holding any inquiry.

They said the relevant service rules clearly stated that a government employee must face inquiry before his sacking.

They said the apex court had given clear ruling that no employee could be terminated from service without holding of inquiry. They said their sacking orders were in violation of the Constitution and law. They termed the action contempt of court.

They stated that they had moved their dismissal from service before the services tribunal, but their appeals were not being decided despite a lapse of one year.

They appealed to the chief justice of Pakistan to take notice of their case and set aside their sacking. They said the apex court should order their reinstatement within seven days.

They added that their protest should be considered `an FIR` against those who had prepared their `fake ACRs`.
