DADU: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leader Liaquat Ali Jatoi has alleged that the funds recently released to various government departments on the pretext of carrying out development worl(s are being embezzled by PPP ministers, MNAs and MPAs to make preparations for next general elections.

Mr Jatoi said at a public meeting at Khudabad village, 11 kilometres from here, on Wednesday that PPP ministers and public representatives were `busy looting public money and multiplying their ill-gotten wealth`.

Time was well nigh to take back the plundered wealth from themand distribute it among the poor, he said. He said that people had started to hate the Pakistan Peoples Party`s government and party leadership because of largescale corruption and they were now turning towards PTI.

He said that people faced great hardships in getting even drinking water as the corrupt PPP rulers were using water as a weapon to punish their rivals. They had stopped water supply to millions of acres of land and only allowed PPPafbliated landlords to cultivate their farmland, he alleged.

Mr Jatoi said that PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari was a man of moderate means in past but now he had become super rich with his `ill-gotten money` and owned`almost half of Dubai` He said that Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah used to `escape abroad` whenever PPP government was dissolved but he would not flee this time because he was mired to the neck in corruption.

He said that the funds for improving education standards were being embezzled, budget of hospitals was being misappropriated and there were no medicines at hospitals while people were dying for lack of medicines at health facilities. He claimed the funds released recently to various government departments purportedly to carry out development schemes were being embezzled by PPP ministers, MNAs and MPAs toprepare for general elections 2018.

He said that PTI had zeroed in on Sindh government`s corruption and the party manifesto said all corrupt people would be sent to jail after accountability.

Mr Jatoi said that PTI would hold a public meeting at Sehwan Sharif on Oct 22 to be addressed by PTI chairman Imran Khan and other party leaders.

The Sindh government, PPP MNAs and MPAs were issuing threats tolocalPTIleaders to stop them from holding the public meeting but they would not be cowed by theirthreatsandfake cases.

He said that PTI had launched a drive against corruption in Sindh and the public meeting in Sehwan was part of the drive. In 2018 elec-tions, PTI would secure more seats than it won in past and PTI chief would become prime minister of Pakistan, he said.

He said that Imran Khan had spearheaded the drive against corruption and corrupt system for the past 21 years and he would soon rid public of corrupt rulers and system. He said that PTI leadership had decided to field candidates in all constituencies across the province and the party was confident to form government in Sindh, Centre and all provinces after general elections.

Meanwhile, local PPP leaders Mazhar Loond and Hameed Panhwar announced joining PTI along with their supporters at the gathering.
