PESHAWAR: Adviser to the Prime Minister Amir Muqam has blamed the provincial government for creating hurdles to the ongoing schemes of gas and power supply in the NA-4 constituency to `hide its own failure and keep the people deprived of development`.
This he said while speaking at a press conference at the PML-N secretariat here on Wednesday. On the occasion, Rah-i-Haq Pany president Mohammad Ibrahim Qasmi announced supponing the PML-N candidate Nasir Khan Musazai in the by-election on the NA-4 seat, while another independent candidate, Zia-ur-Rahman, withdrew his nomination papers in favour of PML-N nominee.
Mr Muqam said the work on supply of natural gas and installation of power transformers had been initiated during past many months which did not concern the upcoming by-election. He said Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leaders by complaining against these schemes had practically proved that they did not want the people to get the facilities of electricity and gas.
He said the provincial government had also announced solarisation of mosques in the constituency just to raise its vote bank, adding he had stahed developmental works in the area in 2005.
The PTI, he said was not sincere to bring prosperity to the province and thus the provincial government wasted both time and funds against the wishes of the people who had supported it on its promise of bringing `change` in 2013 elections.
Mr Muqam, who is also provincial president of PML-N, argued that Chief Minister Pervez Khattak was also following footsteps of his pany chief Imran Khan and spreading rumours in the public meetings. He asked the CM to stop displaying plaques on the schemes initiated by others. He said his pany had never violated the election code of conduct and PTl leaders were lodging baseless complaints with the election commission.
