Three women die in road accident

BAHAWA LPUR: Three women were killed and four other people including a child were injured seriously in a road accident involving three motorcycles near Bangla Kudwala village (144/DB) in Yazman Sadar police precincts.

According to Yazman Sadar police sources, the motorcycles driven by Muhammad Afzal, Allah Yar and an unidentified man collided on the road after sunset.

As a result Zainab Akram, 55, Allah Jawai, 60, and Rajoo Mai, 35, died on the spot.

Allah Yar, Afzal, an unidentified man and a child were seriously injured in the accident. They were rushed to Bahawal Victoria Hospital (BVH) where their condition was said to be serious.

According to police, the families of the deceased women declined to move applications for any legal action and took their bodies to their native places.

The statements of the injured were yet to be recorded by the police.

BOOKED: Baghdadul Jadid police on Tuesday registered a case against 49 people for interfering in official work and creating a rumpus in the office of Sadar tehsil municipal of ficer (TMO).

According to TMO Arshad Ghumman, he got an FIR lodged against 45 people, nominating four of them -Sohalb, Arshad Dhole,Talib and Ashig Abbasi.

According to Mr Ghumman, the suspects on Nov 8 disrupted the tendering process of some 50 uplift schemes amounting to millions of rupees in a bid to pool the tenders.

Following the rumpus, the TMO cancelled the tenders.

He said the tenders would now be advertised again.

COMPENSATION: As many as 1,049 flood-hit people of Uch Sharif will be paid financial compensation in the second phase of chief minister`s programme launched on Monday in the province.

According to MPA Qazi Adnan Farid, the lists of the floodhit people belonging to the rural areas have been finalised.

A total compensation amount of Rs130 million will be disbursed among the affected people of Ahmedpur East tehsil.
