By Our Correspondent 2014-11-12
MINGORA: The politics of sit-in was aimed at snatching power only as change could not be brought through such politics, said Qaumi Watan Party chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao.

Addressing a workers convention at Wadudia Hall here, he said that people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly the residents of Swat, gave mandate to Pakistan Tahreek-i-Insaf for bringing change but it failed to bring change in the province.

`Imran khan has no concern with the problems being faced by the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa rather he is interested in prolonging his government in the province and taking control of the centre as well,` he said.

Mr Sherpao said that sit-in politics was not in the interest of people as it could not resolve issues of masses. `No issue can be solved through slogans,` he added. He also criticised Imran Khan for demanding inclusion of officials of intelligence agencies in the judicial commission to investigate the alleged rigging in the May 2013 general elections.

Mr Sherpao said that judiciary was independent in the country and it could hold investigation into the rigging allegations. He said that increase in crime rate and growing number of polio cases spoke volumes about the poor performance of the provincial government. He said that kidnapping for ransom, extortion and targeted killings were on the rise in the province.
