ISN`T it surprising that a confessed money launderer is taking care of Pakistan`s economy? Is there a dearth of people who could be our finance minister? Why is Ishaq Dar still in office? The prime minister should have either asked him to resign or terminated his services. It is time he took action against him.
Dar has been accused of accumulating assets beyond his means. Presently, he is appearingbefore an accountabihtycourt.
NAB Chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal froze all assets of the finance minister for these could have been sold by him.
The assets include six luxury vehicles, a villa and an apartment in Dubai. The sale of these assets has been banned. The NAB chairman has rightly frozen Dar`s assets. Defence lawyers have been trying to prolong the proceedings to avoid conviction. This is condemnable.
