Army lead in rowing

ISLAMABAD: By winning eight gold and nine silver medals, Pakistan Army are leading the rowing competition of the 33rd National Games.
The rowing event, which is part of the National Games being held in Peshawar, is being organised here at Rawal Dam.
According to the results made available here, Army`s rowers on Monday won eight gold and nine sliver medals, followed by second-placed Wapda (six gold, five sil-ver). Railways are third with two gold and as many silver medals.
According to the Pakistan Rowing Federation, in the 500-metre individual event Army won gold, Wapda seized silver while Punjab clinched bronze.
In light men event of 500 metres, Army secured gold followed by Railways while in light women 2000 metres Wapda grabbed gold followed by second-placed Army and bronze winners Railways.-Sports Reporter
