Traffic enters into the city through the Shahdara by-pass, that connects the Muridke and Sheikhupra roads to the metropolitan city through the signal-free crossing. Without signals or underpass, there are hours-long traffic jams.
Long lines of stationary vehicles add an extra amount of environmental and noise pollution. Pedestrians face a lot of problems while crossing the road. In the meanwhile, accidents occur as a daily routine.
The authorities should take effective action to tackle theissue by building underpasses and bridges to make the flow of traf fic smooth.
