RAWALPINDI: Workers of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) from Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Sunday staged a protest demonstration against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his `insulting` attitude towards AJK Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas a few days ago.
PTI workers staged a protest from Murree Road to Rawalpindi Press Club. AJK Minister for Transport Javed Butt and the Azad Kashmir prime minister`s spokesperson Dr Irfan Ashraf participated.
The protesters urged PM Shehbaz to apologise to Mr Ilyas.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Butt and Dr Irfan highlighted that PM Shehbaz`s attitude towards Mr Ilyas during his visit to Mangla was `very inappropriate` They said Mr Ilyas was supposed to inform PM Shehbaz about problems being faced by the federal government due to the budgetcutbutinsteadoflistening, the prime minister mocked Mr Ilyas which wasunbearable.
They said that the Kashmiri and Pakistani nation are one soul and the prime minister`s attitude will create distances between both nations.
Other speakers said that Kashmiris are fighting for the completeness of Pakistan, adding that in India-held Kashmir, Kashmiris bury their martyrs in the green flag of Pakistan, giving the message that Kashmiris are fighting for the completion of Pakistan with their blood.
During his speech, they said, PM Shehbaz was ignoring sacrifices of the Kashmiri nation and not allowing the AJK prime minister to speak, which was very sad.
They said the prime minister reached Islamabad and issued orders for the sealing of Centaurus Mall, the biggest business centre of Islamabad, as a result of retaliation.
They said that PM Shehbaz must apologise to the Kashmiri nation for these actions, otherwise the scope of the protest will be extended to the entire country.
