Langove chairs security meeting on Quetta bombing

QUETTA: A meeting on law and order, presided over by Balochistan Home Minister Ziaullah Langove, reviewed the security situation following Friday`s mosque suicide attack in Ghousabad.

At the meeting, which took place on Saturday, it was decided that all resources would be utilised to ensure the security of the people, worship places and improve the law and order situation.

The meeting expressed concern over two terrorist attacks taking place in a span of four days claiming 17 lives and injuring several others.

Additional Chief Secretary Home and Tribal Affairs Haider Ali Shikoh, Inspector General (IG) of Police Mohsin Hasan Butt, Deputy Inspector GeneralQuetta Abdul Razzaq Cheema, Commissioner Quetta Usman Ali Khan and Deputy Commissioner Quetta Aurangzeb Badani were some of the officials who attended the meeting.

The security officials briefed the meeting about the investigations so far and steps taken by the law enforcement agencies.

`There is still room for improvement and to curb subversive incidents police, levies and other law enforcement agencies require to be equipped with modern technologies,` said Mr Langove, adding that to maintain law and order, the provincial cabinet had given approval to a five-year comprehensive plan.

The IG Police said that protection of citizens was their duty and cowardly terrorist attacks could not deter their determination in their fight against terrorism.
