KARACHI: The city was hit by another cold wave on Sunday evening, as strong winds from Siberia began to blow, causing night temperatures to drop to single digit.
The Met office said that the city could face “stronger than usual cold winds” on Monday (today).
“As predicted earlier, strong winds started blowing in the second half of the day [on Sunday] which could last for the next 24 hours or so,” Chief Meteorologist Dr Sardar Sarfaraz said, adding: “The windy conditions could keep the night temperatures between 9 degrees centigrade and 11°C.”
The minimum and maximum temperature was 9.8°C Celsius and 26.7°C on Sunday.
A Met Office advisory said that under the influence of current weather conditions, the cold wave is set to intensify with night temperatures are expected to drop to single digit in most parts of the province.—Staff Reporter
