Two injured in lawyers` celebratory fire

TOBA TEK SINGH: Two persons were injured in separate aerial firing incidents involving the lawyers who were celebrating the win of their favourite candidates in election of bar associations at Faisalabad and Samundri.

Reports said advocate Malik Abdul Rahman was present in Sapphire Mosque located on a bus terminal where a function of lawyers was being held to celebrate the victory of Rai Saifur Rehman Bhatti in the Faisalabad district bar election. A lawyer fired into the air and a bullet hit him, leaving him injured.

He was shifted to hospital.

At Samundri, according to FIR registered, the law-yers were firing into the air in the District Courts Complex after the result was announced when a bullet hit a man, identified as Suf fian Gujjar who himself was also involved in the firing. He was critically injured and shifted to the THQ Hospital Samundri.

DIES: A man died and his nephew was injured by robbers on the Toba Road near Chak 297-JB, Gojra.

Manzoor Ahmad succumbed to his injuries at the Allied Hospital Faisalabad while his nephew, Muhammad Suhail, a resident of Chalc 300-JB, were injured by an unidentified robber on Saturday. Manzoor was referred to Faisalabad Allied Hospital by the doctors at the Gojra THQ Hospital.
