DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi here on Sunday pledged to take tangible measures for socio-economic development of Dera Ismail Khan.
He expressed these views during the wedding ceremony of a cousin of Pakistan Peoples Party district president Malik Farhan Afzal Dhap.
He said that PPP always prioritised the welfare of people and raised its voice on all forums for that purpose.
The governor said that several development projects were currently under way to provide modern facilities to people and create opportunities for economic development of the region.
Similarly, the governor paid a visit to the residence of PPP worker Salaar Hussain to offer fateha for his deceased aunt.
LOOTED: Robbers looted at gunpoint cash and valuables from passengers of buses in board daylight at Sidra Morr in the limits of Yarik police station here on Sunday.
Police sources said thatrobbers targeted the buses at gunpoint and snatched valuables from passengers.
They said that police reached the site of occurrence soon after receiving information but robbers had already fled the area.
Locals have expressed concerns over rising incidents of robbery in the area. They have demanded immediate arrest ofrobbers.
Meanwhile, a man was shot dead in the name of honour following his son`s love marriage.
According to police sources, Inayatullah, son of the victim, lodged a report with Dera Ismail Khan police station that his 64-year-old father Sanaullah was present at a tea shop when Azmatullah Sial opened firing on him, killing him on the spot.
Sources said that around a month ago, Azmatullah`s daughter eloped with Samiullah alias Kala, a son of the victim.
The incident became a cause of feud between the two families.
Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident.
