Five children sold by gang traced

ISLAMABAD: Five children allegedly sold by a gang have been traced in different parts of the twin cities, the capital police said on Thursday.

The children were traced after three people, a man, his wife and mother arrested by the police informed the investigators about the whereabouts of five of the 12 children sold to different people.

The accused operated an NGO in Islamabad. The police said three lady health workers(LHWs)inPeshawar allegedly supplied the children to the gang members.

The police said the children were found in the houses of influential people who were also interrogated.

`At this stage, there is no need to disclose the names of the people who adopted the children,` a police officer on the condition of anonymity told Dawn. Staff Reporter
