LAHORE: A retired accounts department employee on Thursday received a shroud with an extortion letter allegedly sent by outlawed Tehreek-iTaliban Pakistan.

An official of the Defence B police said the alleged T TP`s men sent the shroud at the residence of `J` and threatened him with dire consequences for not paying a huge amount as extortion.

The letter stated, `You have made huge money illegally and now the time has come to spend in the name of God otherwise shroud is waiting for you.

Police reached the spot and seized the shroud with the letter and registered a case against unidentified person(s) of the banned outfit.

Police said the letter written in Urdu did not mention the location where the extortion money was to be delivered. However, the police said a three-week deadline had been given.
