PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Wednesday launched Khyber Pal(htunkhwa Digital Transformation Logo for the year2020, sayingthat government would take revolutionary measures during the current year for digitalisation to ensure efficient service delivery and transparency.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, he said that all government departments would come up withconcrete planning for digitalisation in service delivery and routine business. He said that government was committed to introducing digital reforms as per the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

According to a statement, the chief minister said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was the only province in the country that formed its own digital policy. He added that development could be made without use of information technology in contemporary world.

He said that government was aware of the challenges ahead for which numerous measures were taken to impart technological education and equip the youth with the necessary knowledge base.

The chief minister said 2020 would be celebrated as year of digital transformation in the prov-ince. He said that the launching of digital Khyber Pakhtunkhwa logo would attract investors, IT experts and industrialists. The initiative would also promote Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as a brand in the IT sector, he added.

He stated that the first business process outsourcing ready facility (BPO) was established in the province. `It is first of its kind in the country and will help in providing entrepreneurship opportunities to more than 700 youth,` he added.

The chief minister said that establishment of international standard business process outsourcing ready facility in the province would not only create employment opportunities but would also attract international BPO operators.

In a separate event, the chief minister also witnessed the agree-ment signing ceremony for the repair and rehabilitation of 38-kilometre road between Banda Daud Shah and Gurguri in Karak district.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that completion of the project would provide travelling facilities to approximately 30,000 residents of the area. The project will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs495.04 million in 18 months.

Later on, the chief minister also administered oath to the newly elected cabinet of Kohat Press Club.

He expressed hope that the journalists of Kohat would not only help the government through their constructive criticism but would also inform people about the development schemes so that they could benefit from them in a befitting manner.
