LAKKI MARWAT: Police claimed to have arrested the killer of a ninth grader here on Monday.

Dadiwala police station SHO Asmatullah told this scribe that the body of ninth grader Mohammad Rizwan was found in the fields near Mangala village on February 2. He said that the student was killed with a firearm and killer had also tal(en away his motorcycle with him.

` C o m p 1 a i n a n t Rehmanullah, the uncle of the slain boy, told police that the family had no enmity with anyone,` he said. He added that DPO Tariq Habib took notice of the murder and formed a special team to trace the 1(iller and ensure his arrest.

The SHO said that during initial interrogation, police found a clue about the involvement of murdered student`s friends in the crime. `Police arrested five suspects and the caller data record (CDR) of their mobile phones revealed and one of them identified as Riazullah had contactedthe slain student before his murder,` he added.

He said that Riazullah told police that he asl(ed Rizwan to meet him at the crime scene when he demanded return of his loan. He confessed that he killed him with a pistol, he added.

`Police recovered the pistol used in the crime and a snatched motorcycle on the pinpointing of the arrested suspect,` said the SHO.

Meanwhile, a young man was shot dead over a woman related dispute in Chuharkhel area of Lakl(i Marwat district on Monday.

Police said that Wajahat Naveed, 22, was attacked by armed men including Mir Baz, Taus Khan and Atlas Khan when near a shop in his village. They said that Wajahat sustained critical bullet injuries and died on the spot while the killers managed to escape.

`The body was sent to a rural health centre in Titterkhel town for medicolegal formalities,` they said. They added that police launched investigation after registration of a case against the 1(illers under relevant sections of law.
