Impersonator nabbed at matric exam centre

BAHAWALPUR: The Bahawalpur Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) claimed to have caught red-handed a man impersonating a candidate in the matriculation exam on Wednesday.
Earlier, on Tuesday, two suspects were nabbed for impersonating candidates and were handed over to police.
According to a BISE press release, one Muhammad Akbar was identified appearing in place of a candidate Muhammad Mohsin, Roll No 820521 at an examination centre set up at Dera Bakha government school.
Both the candidate and impersonator were handed over to police by the centre superintendent. Besides, another candi-date, Ajmal, having Roll No 802965 was allegedly caught using unfair means and was handed over to police at the examination centre at the Government High School Gulab Ali on Wednesday.
IUB: A `Research Innovation and Commercialization` (ORIC) team of the Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB) has secured a competitive consultancy from the World Wide Fund for Nature-Pakistan (WWF-Pakistan).
According to an IUB press release, the consultancy aimed at enhancing the field staff skills to increase agricultural productivity using alternative methods of synthetic fertilizers and 4R nutrients and promote sustainable agricultural practices.
The project is designed to equip the field staff in different districts of Punjab and Sindh with the knowledge and skills toimplement alternative fertilization techniques and effective nutrient management strategies.
IUB Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Kamran has appreciated the initiative and termed it a booster for the IUB`s income sources, that would also help enhance the faculty`s capacity.
He added that the initiative was a reflection of the growing interest and success of the faculty in achieving effective researchbased advisory projects and the emerging role of IUB in promoting agricultural innovations.
