Says Pakhtuns must unite to foil conspiracies By Our Correspondent 2014-04-13
MINGORA: Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) on Saturday demanded of the government to provide basic facilities to the people of Swat district instead of establishing a cantonment there. It called for unity among Pakhtuns and demanded a new province comprising all those areas where Pakhtuns had been residing.

These demands were made through different resolutions presented during a public gathering at Khwazakhela tehsil of Swat. The resolutions, moved by PkMAP provincial secretary Arbab Mujeeb, opposed the resolutionspassed by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly concerning Hazara province, terming the treasury bench`s move a conspiracy against Pakhtuns.

They demanded of the government to form a new province comprising Pakhtun areas from Chitral to Bolan, including Attock and Mianwali.

One resolution stated that the PkMAP viewed the establishment of cantonment in Swat district as unnecessary, asking the government to launch development projects in the area by establishing industries, health and educational institutions and power houses. The government was asked to take steps for curbing extremism and deforestation in the district.

Later, addressing the public gathering, which was held in connection with by-elections in PK-86, PkMAP central chairman Mahmood Khan Achakzai said that Pakhtuns, living in Khyberpassed by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly concerning Hazara province, terming the treasury bench`s move a conspiracy against Pakhtuns.

He said that law and order situation was created in Pakhtun areas under a conspiracy, adding that Pakthuns should unite to foil such conspiracies.

`We do not demand of the US and European countries to provide us funds, but we are asking them to end their interference in our land,` Mr Achakzai said.

He said that for a prosperous Pakistan it was necessary to take immediate steps for ensuring supremacy of the Constitution, empowerment of parliament and provision of constitutional rights to all individuals of the country.

PkMAP leaders Mukhtar Khan Yousafzai, Usman Khan and others urged the people to join hands for obtaining their constitutional rights.
